MID YEAR VIBES 31-05-2017

Far out summer has come and gone like a quick drink between friends!

As the days are shorter and darker we hunt new inspiration from our ever changing environment, seeking hints of warmth from the cooler days, we turn to the many hues of the sunset – apricot, lemonade fizz and charasmatic burnt copper. Its all about a combination pallet of authentic and expensive feeling tones and asthetics … smokey quartz, gold leaf, nude, and powdered blonde feature along side indulgent muted wine and chocolate pairings. Techniques are habitual feeling and coherent – seemless to the eye for the conventional street goer. Back on the home front I’ve been behind the scenes of daily salon life shooting a couple of collections, one of my best to date – for Industry Hairdresser of the Year 2017, wasnt a finalist this time folks but I’m so proud of the looks I achieved! It was a fantastic night up in Auckland rubbing shoulders with the best in the business ‘keeping up appearances’ – congratulations to the winners on the night.

I have my fingers crossed – a week from now the Trend Vision 2017 finalists will be announced, with 2 finalist positions under my belt I am certainly hoping for another….stay tuned to find out.

Donna competed in our local Lyndsay Loveridge Challenge on sunday picking up a 3rd place in the blow dry event ! wahoo ! Her technical rope twist braid caused a lot of interest on the day – but unfortunately not from the judges… but onwards and upwards as we start turning our hand to our Regional Hairdressing Awards on 31 July look for updates so you can come and support us on the day and see some amazing hair.

Steph has well and truly settled in to life at #TheCuttingEdgeHairStudio with her local clientelle flocking down for seamless colour and shine from the hair stylist with longest hair around #FYI 189 million seconds long ! if you are sick of trying to grow your hair and some champ keeps chopping off more than necessary – just see her ! You wont be dissapointed. It frightens me how many people out there stay loyal to stylists and salons as more of a devil you know than the devil you dont approach – if you aren’t happy with your hair say something or just try someone new !
